Corcyrogobius liechtensteini
   (Kolombatovic, 1891)

Common names: English: Liechtenstein's goby
German: Liechtenstein-Grundel

Common synonyms: none.

Length: 3 cm.

Colouration
Reddish with blue bands across the body. Blue bands also on head. Two prominent dark spots below the opercle. Dorsal fins with irregular orange-red lines. Males during spawning season with dark head.

Description
Praedorsal area and head nacked. Similar to Odondebuenia balearica. Males during spawning season with prolonged rays of first dorsal fin.
27-29 (31) scales in lateral series.
Fins: D1 VI; D2 I+9; A I+ 8 (7-9); P 15 (15-16).

Food
Carnivorous; small vagile animals.

Reproduction
Spawning season around May.

Habitat
5 - 25 m. Rocky shores. Very hidden. In empty holes of boring bivalves at entrances of caves and in cavities. Needs probably good water quality. Rather common but difficult to find.

Distribution
Mediterranean; distribution rather unclear (see map); probably much more distributed, maybe in all the rocky areas. Recently found also at Chalkidiki (Northern Aegean), varified after a photograph.
